The rotary screen is circular in shape and has a steel mesh fitted to the bottom of the sieve. The mesh may be made from other materials like nylon, cheese cloth etc. The sieve has low walls on its periphery. The wire mesh is woven so that fine particles of flour or sugar may pass through, but larger particles or other impurities get stuck in the wire mesh. Sometimes, rotary screen is also called rotary drum screen and trommel screen.

It is equipped with the triangle cross-sectioned bars which holds large solid particles, reduces wastewater's organic load and increases overall efficiency of treatment plan. Drum sieve consists of motor-reducer, scraping palette, spraying system and inlet and outlet parts. All steel parts are produced in stainless steel. Frame can be produced in carbon steel with epoxy coated if requested.
